Go See: Turner Prize at MIMA
We’re getting out and about!
Join us for a day trip from Hull to Middlesbrough to visit the Turner Prize at MIMA.
On arrival, we will explore the Turner Prize exhibition together at MIMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art).
For the afternoon, there are two options: head off independently and explore Middlesbrough at your own pace – you could chose to visit spaces of your choosing, or why not connect with a local artist, curator or arts professional and arrange a studio or site visit? Alternatively, stick with the Humber Street Gallery team as we visit some of the city’s other cultural venues and spaces.
The trip is an opportunity to meet other Fruit Factory Guild members, experience the Turner Prize and discover more of Middlesbrough’s cultural scene.
This is an all-day visit leaving Hull by coach in the morning and returning after 5pm. Places are limited to 18 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Meals are not provided.
More information including timings and an agenda will be provided to attendees closer to the date.
To reserve a space, or if you have any questions about the visit, please get in touch at ffg@humberstreetgallery.co.uk
Please note this is for Fruit Factory Guild members only. Find out more and sign up here.
About The Turner Prize
The Turner Prize, organised by Tate, is one of the world’s leading prizes for contemporary art.
The prize is awarded each year to a British visual artist. ‘British’ can mean an artist working mostly in Britain or an artist born in Britain and working globally. This year’s four nominees were chosen by a jury of artists and curators. The artists are Simeon Barclay, Kira Freije, Marguerite Humeau and Tanoa Sasraku.
The winner of this year’s Turner Prize will be chosen in December.
